Led by Zorlu Holding Board Member Ms. Selen Zorlu Melik, the Gender Equality Committee continues to implement our strategies on gender equality with contributions from our volunteer employees at Zorlu Enerji. In this process, within the framework of our Smart Life 2030 vision, we place the principle of gender equality not just as a goal, but at the core of how we do business.

Achieving gender equality, combating gender-based biases, and strengthening the position of women in business life are of great importance to us. Accordingly, we develop various projects to provide equal opportunities to disadvantaged groups and ensure sustainability in the business world.

  • Equality Through Discourse, Work Environment, and Collaborations

We support gender equality by using inclusive language in our internal and external communications, standing against all forms of discrimination in the workplace, and building collaborations with civil society, academia, and the business world. We are constantly evolving to provide a fair and inclusive work environment where everyone has equal rights.

  • Step-by-Step Equality Through Training and Awareness

Through training sessions and webinars aimed at raising our employees’ awareness of gender equality, we aim to spread our understanding of equality to a broader audience. In this way, we take a significant step toward achieving gender equality in society.

  • We Take Action to Empower Women in the Workplace

To support our female employees in gaining a stronger position in professional life, we launched the "On-the-Job Rotation" program. This program provides female employees with the opportunity to gain experience in different roles, develop new skills, and enhance their leadership abilities. We run a series of supportive programs to maximize their professional growth in the sector.

Our Mentorship Program, developed with a focus on gender equality, offers a mutual learning and volunteer-based platform to support the personal and professional development of our employees. In doing so, we help female professionals in the sector enhance their competencies.

We always prioritize the principle of equal opportunity in our job postings and recruitment processes. We do not tolerate any discrimination based on gender, age, language, or ethnicity in candidate evaluations and ensure a fair and equal selection process. We also consider these principles in our employee engagement surveys.

  • Setting Industry Standards Through Strategic Partnerships

Through collaborations with organizations such as UN Women, UN Global Compact, KAGİDER, and other key institutions, we work alongside leading actors in the sector on gender equality. This enables us to contribute to the development of female professionals and increase equal opportunities in the industry.

  • Investing in the Future with the Female Technician Training Program

With our Female Technician Training Program launched in Gaziantep, we aim to bring female technicians into the energy sector. We offer theoretical training, field experience, job rotation, and mentoring to female students from technical high schools and vocational schools to train strong women for the future of the industry.

  • Balancing Family and Work Life

To support our employees who are mothers, we offer options such as part-time work and unpaid leave to help them balance their work and personal lives. Through our “Parenthood School” programs for employees who are preparing for parenthood or have recently become parents, and their spouses, we provide full support to help them succeed in both their careers and family lives.
