Providing end-to-end services across the energy value chain—from generation to distribution, from charging stations to energy management systems—Zorlu Enerji has taken a significant step forward with its newly acquired 20-year Aggregator License from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). Established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Zorlu Enerji, Zorlu Dengeleme ve Enerji Yönetimi AŞ will provide aggregation services in the electricity market under this license.
A Strategic Advantage for Zorlu Enerji
Aggregation, an increasingly important function in the electricity sector, enables the consolidation of consumption and generation capacities from different consumers and producers under a single umbrella for participation in the market. This allows a broad portfolio—from individual producers to industrial facilities—to engage in the market through one entity.
With the Aggregator License, Zorlu Enerji can now manage both its own generation portfolio and the generation and consumption capacities of third parties. This structure will not only contribute to maintaining supply-demand balance but also enable the company to offer more flexible and efficient energy management solutions.
“We will make significant impact in 2026”
Elif Yener, CEO of Zorlu Enerji, emphasized that the company operates across a wide range of activities from generation to end-users, stating:
“Through renewable and efficient projects, our goal is to provide better services to our customers. With the Aggregator License—which will greatly support this goal—we believe we will create a significant impact in the field of aggregation, especially with the regulations coming into effect in 2026.”
New Opportunities
Yener added that their customer portfolio will include licensed power plants under 100 MW and unlicensed power plants whose YEKDEM period has ended on the generation side, as well as eligible consumers on the consumption side. She continued:
“We aim to grow under this license both with our own power plants and with plants that will join from outside.”
