Zorlu Enerji has been reporting to CDP Turkey since its inception in 2010
Zorlu Enerji has consistently measured and reported its climate change-related data to CDP Turkey since the program’s establishment in 2010. In 2011, it became one of the first companies to receive the Carbon Disclosure Award within the CDP framework. Ranking among the top scorers alongside its group companies in every reporting year, Zorlu Enerji maintained its “B” score and Management level in the CDP Water Security Program. As the first energy company in Turkey to report to CDP, Zorlu Enerji also secured a place on the Awareness level list in the CDP Forests disclosure with a C score—an achievement shared by only four companies from Turkey. Zorlu Enerji's group companies, GAZDAŞ and Osmangazi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (OEDAŞ), were also assessed at the Management level with a B score in the CDP Climate Change Program.
Commenting on the achievement, Zorlu Enerji CEO Sinan Ak said:
“We fulfill our responsibilities toward the environment and natural resources as we conduct our business, and we take into account the effects of the climate and water crises when determining our business strategies. We invest in a diversified portfolio of renewable energy—wind, solar, geothermal, and hydroelectric power plants—and strengthen it with projects aligned with our sustainability, environmental, and social governance policies.
In line with our Smart Life 2030 vision and sustainability mission, we ensure environmentally friendly, safe, high-quality, and sustainable energy production and distribution. We place our stakeholders at the heart of everything we do and aim to maximize the value we create. We are proud to have reached the leadership level in environmental performance as recognized by CDP, to which we have been reporting consistently since 2010.”
Operating across the entire energy value chain—from generation and sales to EV charging station operations and solar panel manufacturing—Zorlu Enerji also manages its environmental impact through its “Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management System,” designed to support its nature management goals.
Prioritizing a sustainable planet and society, Zorlu Enerji aims to generate 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and to achieve net-zero emissions across its operations and energy production. The company plans to extend this target across its entire value chain by 2040 and to become fully net-zero by 2050. Additionally, Zorlu Enerji has committed to investing at least 10 million TL in biodiversity-related initiatives.
