In line with this, we approach solar energy as an integrated part of our existing generation infrastructure, developing solutions that enhance diversity and efficiency in energy production.
What Is Solar Energy?
Solar energy is a renewable energy source obtained by converting solar radiation into electrical energy through photovoltaic panels. This generation method, which produces no direct carbon emissions, contributes to reducing environmental impacts and to the wider adoption of sustainable energy systems. Solar Power Plants (SPP) offer flexible energy generation solutions with their modular structures that allow installation at various scales, rapid commissioning, and low operating costs.
Hybrid Solar Power Plant Approach
Zorlu Enerji implements its solar energy investments through various application models, including the hybrid generation model. Hybrid Solar Power Plants enable solar facilities to operate in an integrated manner with existing energy generation facilities — such as geothermal, hydroelectric, and wind power plants — thereby increasing generation efficiency.
Through this structure:
Electricity is generated from more than one renewable source on the same site,
Existing infrastructure and licenses are utilized more effectively,
A balanced generation profile is achieved at different hours of the day and different periods of the year.

Our Solar Power Plant Projects
Zorlu Enerji's solar energy investments comprise a portfolio of both operational and development-stage projects. This portfolio also includes hybrid Solar Power Plants integrated with geothermal power plants.

The total installed capacity of our Solar Power Plants in operation, both domestically and internationally, is approximately 6 MW:
Kızıldere I Hybrid Solar Power Plant (Denizli): 0.99 MW
Alaşehir Hybrid Solar Power Plant (Manisa): 3.588 MW
Dead Sea Solar Power Plant (Palestine): 1.5 MW
Ongoing Solar Power Plant Projects
With our ongoing projects, we aim to significantly increase our installed solar energy capacity. The total installed capacity of our hybrid Solar Power Plant projects currently under construction and commissioning is approximately 66 MW.
