  • In 2017, Kızıldere 3 project's first unit with 65.5MW of installed power was commissioned by Zorlu Enerji. Kızıldere 3 Geothermal Power Plant, one of the world's leading geothermal power plant, has become Turkey’s largest geothermal power plant with 165 MW of installed capacity.
  • Zorlu Enerji signed a "Joint Venture Agreement" with JDECO (Jerusalem District Electricity Company) supplying one fourth of the electricity distribution in Palestine in order to establish solar power plants with a 30MW at first stage to achieve 100MW established power in total to provide electrical energy to the region. 
  • Zorlu Enerji signed Project Financing Contracts to provide financial support worth up to 330 million USD equivalent of TRY in total from reputable local banks and international institutions including European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), World Bank group member International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) in order to realize the infrastructure investments regarding Osmangazi Electricity Distribution Company (OEDAŞ) of which the company took over the shares in February 2017.
  • A leading company in Turkey in the area of domestic and renewable energy, Zorlu Enerji has become a partner of the GECO (Geothermal Gas Emission Control) project, which is carried out by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 Program. The project, which will be run by a total 18 institutions from France, Italy, England, Iceland, Germany and Turkey –with Zorlu Enerji and Middle East Technical University being the only partners from Turkey–, aims to implement field applications on a global scale and enable the exchange of knowledge and experiences in order to achieve sustainability in geothermal areas and reach zero emissions of carbon dioxide and similar gases through the elimination of such gases.
  • A leading company in the area of local and renewable energy in Turkey, Zorlu Enerji has accomplished a first in Turkey by signing a “Green Loan” agreement in which interest rate is indexed to sustainability performance, with Garanti Bank. Throughout the process, which will be conducted by one of the world's leading sustainability rating agencies Vigeo&EIRIS, Zorlu Enerji's performance in the areas of environment, human resources, community participation, human rights, business ethics, and corporate governance will be evaluated.
  • As of 2018, Zorlu Enerji has now grouped its new generation of technological operations under the ZES brand. With ZES brand, the company aims to accelerate popularization of electric vehicles and to facilitate the travels of electric vehicle owners in Turkey with several rapid charging stations commissioned in city roads and highways. In addition to rapid charging services offered in public areas, the company also provides charging station commissioning at homes and at businesses based on user demand. ZES aims to increase its charging station network and to make electric vehicles available throughout.
  • In order to increase investments and develop mutual trade relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan, MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) agreement was signed for a 50 MW Solar Power Plant project in Kazakhstan by Zorlu Enerji, Kazakhstan Ministry of Energy and Turkestan District Governorate.
  • Zorlu Enerji has published its 5th Sustainability Report in accordance with the GRI Standards under the leadership of the Sustainability Board. Zorlu Enerji shared its sustainable development performance in a transparent manner with the public in its 2016-2017 period report.
  • Zorlu Enerji united its all companies under the brand of "Zorlu Enerji".               Within the scope of merger, OEPSAŞ (Osmangazi Elektrik Perakende Satış A.Ş.), which carries out retail electricity sales activities in Eskişehir, Uşak, Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya and Bilecik provinces, will continue to work under the name of Zorlu Enerji.
  • Zorlu Enerji's offices in Afyonkarahisar, Bilecik, Eskişehir, Kütahya and Uşak, are included in the ‘Green Office” company category, made by enVision, by using Electronic Document Management System to switch to the paperless office concept.
  • As one of the pioneers of Turkey's domestic and renewable energy sectors, Zorlu Enerji took place in Borsa İstanbul's (BIST) Sustainability Index, which includes publicly-traded companies and their high level of corporate sustainability performance for the third time in a row.
