1993

  • Zorlu Enerji was founded to supply electricity and steam to Zorlu Group companies


1997

  • The Company’s first natural gas power plant was commissioned in Lüleburgaz with 7 MW of electricity and 20 tonnes/hour of steam capacity


1998

  • Zorlu Enerji’s second natural gas power plant was commissioned in Bursa with 35 MW of installed capacity


1999

  • The Company’s total capacity reached 135 MW with capacity expansion at Lüleburgaz and Bursa Natural Gas Power Plants
  • Zorlu Enerji commenced electricity sales to non-Zorlu Group companies


2000

  • 20% of Zorlu Enerji’s shares were offered to public and the Company’s shares started trading on Istanbul Stock Exchange as of May 25, 2000
  • Total capacity reached 156 MW of electricity and 150 tonnes/hour of steam


2003

  • Ankara Natural Gas Power Plant came into operation with 50 MW of installed capacity


2005

  • Kayseri Natural Gas Power Plant and Yalova Cogeneration Power Plant were commissioned with respective capacities of 164 MW and 15.9 MW


2006

  • Zorlu Enerji signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Pakistan Alternative Energy Development Board for a wind power plant to be built in Pakistan


2008

  • Ankara Doğal Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret AŞ (9 power plants with 141 MW of installed capacity) was acquired via a privatization tender
  • Kayseri Natural Gas Power Plant’s capacity reached 188.5 MW
  • Zorlu Enerji acquired generation licenses for two wind power plant projects (110 MW)

2009

  • Gökçedağ Wind Power Plant commenced operations partially with 57.5 MW of installed capacity
  • The shares of Zorlu Doğal Elektrik Üretimi AŞ (former Ankara Doğal Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret AŞ) were transferred to Zorlu Holding AŞ


2010

  • Gökçedağ Wind Power Plant was fully commissioned with 135 MW of capacity


2012

  • Russian assets were transferred to Zorlu Holding AŞ and the shares of Zorlu Doğal Elektrik Üretimi AŞ (128 MW) were re-acquired from Zorlu Holding AŞ


2013

  • Pakistan Wind Power Plant (56.4 MW) and Kızıldere II Geothermal Power Plant (80 MW) commenced operations


2014

  • Dorad Natural Gas Power Plant (840 MW) in Israel became operational
  • The generation license for the Ankara Natural Gas Power Plant was terminated


2015

  • First phase of Alaşehir I Geothermal Power Plant (33.73 MW) and Ashdod (64.5 MW) & Ramat Negev (126.4 MW) Natural Gas Power Plants entered into operation
  • The generation license for the Kayseri Natural Gas Power Plant was terminated


2016

  • Second phase of Alaşehir I Geothermal Power Plant (11.27 MW) came into operation
  • The shares of Zorlu Elektrik (Electricity Trade & Supply) were acquired from Zorlu Group
  • Sarıtepe & Demirciler Wind Power Plants (80.3 MW) became operational


2017

  • Entry into the electricity distribution business with the acquisition of Osmangazi Electricity Distribution Co. & Osmangazi Electricity Retail Sales Co.
  • First unit (99.5 MW) of Kızıldere III Geothermal Power Plant entered into operation


2018

  • Second unit (65.5 MW) of Kızıldere III Geothermal Power Plant was commissioned
  • Ikizdere Hydroelectric Power Plant’s installed capacity was increased from 18.6 MW to 24.94 MW
  • The new fluidized bed steam boiler at Lüleburgaz Natural Gas Power Plant became operational
  • Zorlu Enerji entered natural gas distribution business with the acquisition of Trakya Bölgesi Doğalgaz Dağıtım AŞ and Gazdaş Gaziantep Doğalgaz Dağıtım AŞ

2020

  • Dead Sea Solar Power Plant (1.998MW), located in Palestine, was commissioned.
